How it works

Three steps, in plain English.

1

Tell us what happened

In plain English — no legal words needed. Tell us what happened, in your own words.

2

We research your situation

How the law generally applies to a situation like yours, with the relevant rules named — and where it’s worth seeing a professional.

3

You get a report to keep

Emailed to you as a PDF: a clear starting point, your options, and a next-steps checklist you can act on or take to a solicitor.

What we can help with

Everyday legal questions in the UK.

  • Home and renting — deposits, evictions, repairs, disagreements with a landlord or letting agent
  • Work — your rights and what your contract says about pay, redundancy, hours
  • Neighbours — boundaries, party walls, fences, noise
  • School — places, exclusions, SEND and EHCPs
  • Family — separating, divorce, arrangements for children
  • Buying things — refunds, faulty goods, builders and tradespeople, contracts and memberships

These are examples, not the whole list. Some things aren’t for us — injury and compensation claims, immigration, and debt solutions among them — and we check your situation before you pay anything. See what we can and can’t help with.

What it costs

One report, or a membership.

One-off report

£19

A single report on your situation, emailed to you as a PDF. Nothing recurring, and no account needed.

Membership

£12 a month

Keep up to 3 active cases at a time. Add to a case as things change and ask for a fresh report on it when you need one, up to a daily limit per case. Needs an account. Cancel any time — when your membership ends, we delete your cases (see the Terms).

Before you spend on legal time

Save time and money before you speak to a solicitor.

Go straight to a solicitor and part of what you pay for is their time spent gathering and organising the facts of your situation — before anything legal has even begun. This report does that groundwork first, and gives you a solid understanding of your position before you approach expensive legal services.

Save on legal time

Much of the early cost of legal help is a professional’s time spent assembling the facts. Arriving with that already set out means their time — and your money — goes to the advice itself.

A solid understanding of your position

A plain-English report that sets out where you stand, yours to keep and to hand to a solicitor — so you go in understanding your own situation.

When it needs a professional

The report flags where a situation is likely to need a regulated professional — including where we are not the right place to bring it — so your time and money go where they count.

What’s in the report?

A plain-English account of your situation, the rules that generally apply to situations like it, the options usually open at this stage, and a next-steps checklist — a clear starting point you can act on or take to a professional.

It’s information, not legal advice. No solicitor has reviewed it, it doesn’t tell you how your situation will end, and it isn’t a substitute for advice on your own facts.

What you get — and what this isn’t

  • ✓ A structured starting point for professional advice
  • ✓ Written in plain English, for your specific situation
  • ✓ Yours to keep, and to hand to a solicitor
  • — Not legal advice, and not a solicitor acting for you
  • — Not a promise about how your situation will end
  • — Some situations need a regulated professional — we’ll say so and point you onward
Start — describe your situation.

A one-off report, with no account needed to start.
